Can I change my shipping address?

Can I change my T-shirt Size?

Yes you can change your size in BackerKit up to March 31st and you can also choose more sizes. Our T-shirt suppliers offer Small to 5XL sizes. If you have any issues you can contact BackerKit in the first instance.

Can I upgrade my pledge?

Yes but only to select tiers. These changes can be made in Pledge Manager. Any changes are locked in after March 31st.

When will I get my reward?

Our goal is to deliver all physical rewards before the end of 2023. Please be aware all physical rewards will ship at different times.

This Kickstarter is for The Magnus Archives 2 (The Magnus Protocol) an ongoing media project. Content will have an ongoing release starting in 2023 and running for several years. Events such as premieres will be similarly be planned around ongoing releases.

My pledge is a gift can I use my loved ones name for X reward?

Yes! You can choose your name for the supporter wall etc. during Backer Kit! You must obtain the consent of a person before submitting their name.

Can I bundle shipping to save costs rather than paying per item.

Unfortunately, no. All physical rewards are from different fulfillment partners and as such they will ship at different times and from different locations.

I ordered a 30 second audio message and/or credit at (Archivist Tier and above) but I'm worried about pronunciation?

We are asking everyone to please include the chosen name and to spell it phonetically and provide any other advice such as “sounds like” e.g.

I ordered a personalised message! (Archivist Tier and Above) can it say X?

We can guarantee that your Message will be personalised with a chosen name only. You can also pick an occasion if you want your message for a particular purpose.

If you want a message with a theme please specify. e.g. Happy Holidays, Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Congratulations. You can choose any name but RULES: Nothing Obscene, Bigoted or Defamatory.

We also reserve the right to reject any request for any reason at any time and for a member of the Rusty Quill team to contact to arrange an alternative acceptable recording.

I backed to name a character! (Named Character Tier Only) Can I name it whatever I want?

There are rules:

Firstly, it is worth noting that the more generic the name higher likelihood of your character being able to be recurring e.g. Sir Bertrand McGuffingham is hard to make a more involved part of the world. Any common name from any culture is fine.

You can absolutely request the character to be named after you or a loved one (Please get their permission).

Real human names only no “Magnus McMagnusFace”

No Michaels.

We can’t take names of historic figures, celebrities and no iconic characters from other media (especially podcasts).

Absolutely no RQ cast or crew either. So you can’t name your character Alex Newall or variants there of. But any other unrelated second name with the first name Alexander, Jonathan, Hannah, April etc. should be acceptable as long as it doesn’t break any other rule.

No existing The Magnus Archives characters. We absolutely can’t name anyone else Elias Bouchard for example.

No bigotry, slurs or swearing.

No stereotypes.

No puns or double entendre

We also reserve the right to refuse any name for any reason. Someone for the Rusty Quill team will email you for an alternative submission.

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Terms and Conditions

TIMELINES

- It is possible timelines for delivery may change without notice.

- Assuming the funding of this project is successful we should be able to begin releasing the first episodes in October of 2023. However, there is potential for the project to be delayed for a number of reasons including creative obstacles in writing and production quality that require rewrites or rerecords, technical issues and more.

- In the event key cast or crew are unavailable due to sickness or injury, in which case production will reschedule recordings as soon as possible. As always we will update on production delays as soon as possible and retain transparency with our audience on schedules and release dates.

REWARDS AND SHIPPING

- In recognition of issues with shipping the main focus of this campaign is on digital rewards. This helps prevent delays and allows us to focus on the successful fulfilment of a smaller selection of physical rewards. Physical rewards may encounter delays or damages.

- It is possible that live events may fail to take place due to sickness or force majeure, in which instance the Rusty Quill will work to arrange an alternative date for the event in the first instance but failing this we will work to offer an alternative reward of equal or greater value.

CANCELLATION OR FAILURE TO DELIVER REWARDS

- If specific rewards become impossible for Rusty Quill to fulfill we will attempt to offer a reward of equal value.

- No refunds will be offered to backers who decide they no longer wish to receive their rewards.
